Lake Rules for Ashippun Lake
Ashippun Lake Rules according to State Statues 30.50-30.79 and Village of Lac La Belle Ordinances
Speed Restrictions
- No Person shall operate a boat in excess of 30 mph on Ashippun Lake.
- From sunset until 8 am, no person shall operate a boat at a speed in excess of 10 mph on Ashippun Lake
Water Skiing and Similar Devices
- No person shall operate a motor boat or personal watercraft towing a person including any form of “tubing” on Ashippun Lake in other than a counter clockwise direction.
- No Person shall operate a motor craft towing a person on water skis or similar device at any time from sunset until 8am.
Prohibited Operation
- No person shall operate an automobile on the ice of Ashippun Lake (“Automobile” is defined as a motor vehicle permitted on Wisconsin highways).
- No person shall permit any person who is intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled substance, so as to be unable to provide for his own safety, to be a passenger in a boat operated by him, except in an emergency.
- No person may operate a motor boat powered by internal combustion engine on Ashippun Lake in the West End Channel leading from Ashippun Lake to the Ashippun River. Electric motors may be used in this restricted zone.
